Mini Poem #7 - Ilde in Udon
Lucky 7, this is the 7th poem I've shared in a row and I've a couple more left to go! Enjoy!
Ilde in Udon
Peppy
I remember when I was peppy
Tears prickle in my eyes
Before life got to me
And wore me down
Punched the pep out of me
I remember peppy like an old-school friend
A fond memory of times gone by
I hope life is kinder to you Ilde
That your peppy self doesn’t fade
Like the Udon shirt, you’re wearing
With each shift and wash made
I wish you the most peppiness
For years to come
May life be good to you
And you find where you belong

Thank you for reading and much love, Sheila.
A old shirt softly washed and worn has many more uses; remembered for the good times shared, some holes have need sewed, but the usefulness and energy rebound with the friends who give their pep back to you.
Memories of the way we were can be painful.
